Flying has always been exciting and fun to me. From getting my private license at age 16 in Palm Springs, CA to my current vocation of commanding commercial aircraft all over the world. It has allowed me to travel to many interesting places and learn about people in many different cultures. I’m grateful to have had this opertunity and all that has come with it.

For those of you who don’t know I am also a commercial pilot. While driving across NZ with my buddy we saw this old Ag Cat parked on the side of the road. It had been converted and restored to pristine condition for scenic flights so we took it up for a flight. Ahhh… to feel the wind in your hair and fly around at low level. It’s not quit the same as my day job.

Have you ever found yourself wishing you could be in some inaccessible place to get the perfect shot that you are after? The company DJI has several products that may be of interest to you. This is their Phantom Vision 2 plus flown for the first time today by yours truly. It is quit a remarkable piece of kit. I flu it today in some strong gusty winds and with virtually no drone flying experience and was able control the aircraft with relative ease. It was a lot of fun and I will be posting photos and videos taken with the onboard camera in the future. My goal is to be able to ski and fly this craft by February for a deep powder trip to Japan’s north island of Hokkaido.
